Terms of service

Effective 2026-04-20.

These terms govern your use of kyopsec (the "service"), operated by [Owner Name] (we). By signing up, you agree to them. If you don't, don't sign up.

What you get

A managed website built on the kyopsec template, hosted on infrastructure we operate.
Domain registration or transfer (we register on your behalf using our registrar account; the domain is held in your business name and transferable to you on request).
DNS, SSL, daily off-site backups, and the content updates included in your plan.

Pricing & billing

Plans and pricing are listed at /pricing. Billing is monthly or annual via Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
You can cancel any time from your billing page; service runs through the end of the current billing period.
We don't issue partial-month refunds. Annual plans cancelled within 30 days of purchase get a prorated refund of unused months on request.
If a charge fails, we retry per Stripe's smart retry schedule. After repeated failures we may suspend the site and, after 30 days unpaid, end the subscription.

Your content vs. our IP

We draw a clean line between what's yours and what's ours.

Yours:

Business info you give us — name, services, cities, phone, photos you upload.
Submissions to your site's contact forms (your visitors' data; you're the controller).
Your domain name. We hold it at the registrar in your business name and will release the EPP/auth code on request within two business days.

Ours:

The generated site code, design, Tailwind/CSS, JavaScript, and hosting configuration.
The AI-generated copy, service × city pages, JSON-LD schema, and page templates.
The platform itself (generation pipeline, deploy scripts, backup infrastructure).

Your subscription is a license to use the generated site while you're paying. Cancellation ends the license — we take the site offline and retain data for 30 days in case you come back.

Buying your site outright (optional)

If you want a permanent copy of the current version — yours to keep, self-host, or migrate wherever — there's a one-time buyout from your dashboard at /dashboard/ownership.

Price: $499 one-time. Never billed again unless you re-buy a future updated version.
You receive a zip with the site code, all generated content, and any contact-form submissions to date.
The buyout is a snapshot. Pages we generate AFTER the purchase date remain our IP unless you buy again.
Your subscription is not affected by a buyout. Hosting continues at the normal rate until you cancel.

AI-generated content

We use AI to draft copy and schema. We make no warranty that generated copy is free of factual errors — review before publishing anything important. Flag anything wrong via support and we'll fix it at no charge.

Attribution

Every site we generate includes a small "Site built & maintained by kyopsec" credit in the footer. You agree to leave that credit in place while your subscription is active. If you purchase the buyout, you may remove it from your copy.

Public reference

We may show your site as a public reference (logo, screenshot, plain link) unless you ask us not to. You're responsible for the legality of content on your site.

Domain ownership

Domains we register or transfer on your behalf are held in your business name as the legal registrant. We are listed as the administrative/technical contact for management convenience.
On request (cancellation, transfer-out, or any reason), we will provide the EPP/auth code and unlock the domain within two business days.
If your subscription ends and we don't hear from you within 60 days about the domain, we will release it back to public availability rather than continue paying renewal fees.

Service levels

We target 99.9% monthly uptime, but make no SLA guarantees at the Starter tier. Major outages get a credit at our discretion.
Maintenance windows are typically late-night Eastern. Emergency security patches happen whenever.
We back up your site daily off-site and retain 30 days of snapshots.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any illegal activity, fraud, or scheme designed to harm others.
Send spam from any email address tied to your domain.
Run third-party content (ads, redirects, trackers) we haven't approved.
Try to break the platform — load test, exploit, scrape other customer sites, etc. We log everything.

Violations get one warning, then we suspend the site. Severe violations (illegal content, abuse) we suspend immediately and refund the current period.

Termination

You can cancel any time from /billing. Service runs through period end; we then archive your site for 30 days before deletion.
We can terminate for cause (non-payment, ToS violation) with notice. We can terminate without cause with 30 days notice and a prorated refund.
On termination, you can request an export of your generated site (full code + data) within 30 days at no charge.

Liability

The service is provided "as is." Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for lost profits, missed customer calls, SEO ranking changes, or any indirect damages. [Recommend counsel review for your jurisdiction.]

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes get an email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
